I don't know about you, but I think this is one U-G-L-Y chair! I got it strictly for the arms. But looking back on this project now, it is not one of my favorites. I had wanted to repurpose a door into a hall tree for a long time. I did this project last year. I have learned a lot since then, and if I had it to do all over again, much of it would be different. But isn't that what this life is all about? Learning from our mistakes?
Here is the curbed door. It was an exterior door, very solid and very heavy.
As you have seen in earlier posts, I like the look of painted wood next to stained wood.
In this picture, you can see that I have added some more decorative details on the seat, spindles cut in half. I have also added the mirror and some coat hooks. My good friend Rose mailed me one of her extra door knobs! Wasn't that sweet?
In this picture, you can see that I used some cabinet hardware to cover up the thingy where the doorknob thing comes out. I could take the time to google it, to use the correct terminology, but you can see what I mean.
