Here's a quick and easy repurposed drawer front project for you!
Free Antique Drawer Fronts
I got two antique drawer fronts for FREE from my neighbor. Yep, it was either me or the dumpster--so happy I won out.

Use Vintage Knobs on Drawer Front
First, I used the bottom repurposed drawer front to make a coat rack using vintage door knobs. Isn't it so pretty?
Easy Stain Makeover
I decided to use Minwax Golden Pecan on this one. If you look closely you can see that I filled the original knob holes on the drawer front with some wood filler.
Make New Hooks Look Old For Repurposed Drawer Front
Because I wanted my hooks to look old, like the drawer front, I gathered three new silver coat hooks and did some spray painting on them. I used several different spray paints in addition to some turquoise rub-n-buff to give them an aged look. That's one of the great things about having a huge stash of spray paint. To get this look, I did more of a "splatter" painting, not giving full coverage of any one color.
Because this drawer front has the trim all the way around, it’s a little beefier. Do you know what piece of furniture this may have come from?
Coat Hook Repurposed Drawer Front
I covered up the original holes on the left and right with the hooks and added a third one to the center.
Drawer Front Coat Rack for Scarves
This repurposed drawer front piece would be great in any room. It could be used for coats, hats, and towels in the bathroom. In addition, it could be used for jewelry as it does have a little width at the top to hold other items on its little built-in mini shelf.
It would be difficult for me to choose a favorite between the two coat racks. This one was definitely easier to do.
Do you have a favorite?
I'd love for you to save & share this project on Pinterest.

So behind on my blog hopping...but I love this! Beautiful color!

I like the second one - the warmth of the pecan stain and molding on all sides. Why do I never come across pretty drawer fronts? Hmph.

Those are beautiful! I'm loving that Golden Pecan stain. I've never tried it, but it's on my wish list now. š

These drawer front conversion to coat rack is VERY clever. I am going to be on the lookout for old drawer fronts. One Question> HOW DID YOU HANG THEM?
gail@myrepurposedlife.com
Anne,
I hang all my projects with "d" rings. You can see how I add them to chalkboards in this post: https://www.myrepurposedlife.com/2013/05/how-to-make-small-display-easels.html
Because they secure with screws, I find them to be the best overall option for my projects--very sturdy.

Seeing the coat rack with the scarves on it made me think of using this idea to hand jewelry!
I'm still jealous of those drawer fronts---

These are beautiful. I love them.

How do you hang these? I wouldn't think little saw-hook hangers would hold any weight of coats. Are they then bolted to the wall? Thanks!
