Find an old, throw-away wooden golf club, an old ball, some tees, and a scrap of wood. Do some refinishing, a little cutting, hole boring, and apply some epoxy glue, to create a bird. Themes work with a little decoration: the loon, the Marine [with the 'crop' of tees clipped to a buzz cut], the lady golfer [with visor added], etc.. Makes a gift, a unique tournament prize, or a tool to raise funds for a worthy cause.
Very little cost invested in materials. Old clubs can be found at garage sales, flea markets, or trash piles.
