A couple of months ago I found a great deal on picture frames. Soon after I got an even better deal on some cork boards. It seemed to me that they were meant to come together to make a picture frame cork board.
Good Deal on Cork Board
I got this great deal on cork board at The Home Depot. The first time I saw them I only picked up 3 sheets of the clearance cork board—but I went back the next day and picked up 10 more sheets. WHAT was I thinking? I’ll be making cork board projects for YEARS!.

Thrift Store Picture Frames
This is one of the frames I got really cheap at Vendors’ Village. I love old frames, and can rarely pass them up. Therefore, I have a stash of all kinds of frames in my garage.
Do you see my sweet little Lulu Mae watching her mama work?
Paint multiple projects while you have the sprayer out
On a day when I was painting a lot of projects black with my Homeright Finish Max I included these two frames in the mix. I used a couple of light coats of my diy chalky paint primer and then a couple light coats of Beluga Satin.
Easy Way to Hold Cork Board in a Frame
It was really puzzling trying to figure out how I was going to secure the cork board pieces into the frames. I considered glue for a moment, and then I remembered I had these Small round eyelet flat metal type hangers in my stash for awhile. This isn’t their intended purpose, but they worked like a charm! I inserted the small screws and extended the hanging sections over the back of the cork board.
The second frame was shaped a little differently, so I had to bend the metal hangers in order to secure the cork board for this frame. As always I used d-rings for hanging the picture frame cork boards.
I do have a Logan Dual Elite Driver that works well for some projects. But there wasn’t any room to drive them in. You can see how I used it in the post artwork frame chalkboard.
I really think that the flat metal eyelet hangers are an inexpensive option to keep on hand, but I do prefer using the Dual Point Driver when it’s an option.
Easy Picture Frame Cork Board
These were quickie projects I did to take to Glendale 2016. Neither of them sold.
They now reside BACK at Vendors’ Village in my booth. I often find it funny how many things I buy here, fix up and then take back. In this picture alone I see the French Provincial Headboard Bench, the glazed sewing cabinet and the glazed chair project hanging on the wall.
I have a lot of frames, and many sheets of cork board. What do you think I should do next? I’ve seen fabric covered corkboards and painted corkboards . . . maybe something of that sort?

What a great idea! I need/want a smallish cork board to hang above my desk area that is 1.5 to 2 times wider than high. I'll be on the lookout for a thrifted picture frame and some cork board. I made a nice bulletin board years ago from burlap covered Firtex and a picture frame and I still use it above my sewing machine. Love that they can be customized to personal needs and tastes! Thanks for the great ideas. Wish I lived closer so I could "shop" your store.

add some kind of French stencil to the boards, it'll doll them up and I think be more eye catching.

I was looking for cork at HD a little while ago and there was none to be found. So instead, I bought a piece of sheet metal, cut it, and popped it in the frame. Magnetic board instead of a cork board.

Sounds like a good use of all those frames you've been collecting. It'll make room for something new.
