green is no longer a sacrifice of values for style – gorgeous 100% recycled tile

I used this recycled tile in my bathroom, and its still one of my favorite green things! It’s been true for awhile….but green products no longer mean sacrificing style for our values….note to renewable energy crowd…..can you make solar panels and wind turbines in interesting shapes?

my green office renovation… how it all began……

I could say it was handwriting on the wall or a sign. in this case it was the shelf brackets pulling away from the wall in my closet, ready to toss everything onto the closet err office floor. Actually, my office, is in a closet. Apt living. Tough decision for a gal who likes shoes, but ultimately the office won out.

As I was beginning to figure out how to make the office more functional, attractive…I got laid off from my job [as executive director of a sustainable, business incubator for designers]. No pity, party needed. Call me a fatalist….I am a believer that one door closes and another opens. And the entrepreneur in me got excited!

So the shelf malfunction may have been a sign…..it had gotten me thinking and I already had some ideas about how to redo and green the office. I have put on seminars about green building products, but had yet had occasion to use them! This should be fun!
