Lynn

Thanks for reaching out and being a long time friend of MRL!

I would easily recommend the Finish Max Extra because of the wide variety of tip. It comes with two with more tips optional. There aren't so many working parts to make it difficult to clean. I have a great post about cleaning oil based products. https://www.myrepurposedlife.com/finish-max-paint-spraying-101/
Honestly, I rarely use my finish max pro.

Homeright does have some great products for staining by hand, pads etc.

If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line.
