Headboard Sign Home
Yesterday I showed you how I used the lower part of this repurposed headboard to make a sign (bienvenue). Today, I’m going to show you what I did with the upper portion of the headboard after I cut it away from the posts. You of course know I saved those bed posts. I would never throw such things away.
Seeing this Home sign, makes me think that I must have stained the sign from yesterday. For this one, I just used some wipe-on poly from Minwax. Did you know you can apply wipe on poly right over vinyl lettering? .
How to Make a Home Sign out of a Headboard
Of course I worked on this in the kitchen because of the unbelievably hot summer we’ve been having. Do you do that? Make large projects in your kitchen when the weather is extreme?
For a smaller sign, you could cut off the ends of the headboard. That’s the great thing about DIY, you can customize it to suit your needs.

DIY Headboard Signs
Which is your favorite? Do you prefer the painted bed signs with the white lettering, or the Home sign leaving the headboard it’s natural color?
It’s a nice change to use repurposed headboards as something other than benches. I do love a good repurposed headboard bench, but change is good, don’t you think?
