I told you last week that I’d show you my fun project using the Silhouette Heat Transfer material. I chose to put my MRL logo onto a tote bag.
I uploaded my images (saved them to library). I then flipped them horizontally. When you do a print & cut feature, you need to use registration marks.
As I choose “cut” on the Silhouette tool bar, I get this popup, where I choose “click here to print”
You will actually be “printing” on your printer. (oops, looks like someone needs to buy some more ink!)
I placed the media onto my printer.
After printing, I used my light hold cutting mat to attach the media so I could insert it into my Silhouette.
Your machine will need to detect your registration marks in order to know where to cut your images.
Make sure your settings are set on Heat Transfer Material.
This is after the Silhouette cut my images. That little string is from the little box that I had the silhouette cut around my image.
I cut the image out with my scissors, then peeled away the excess media.
The directions say to use fabric between the iron on, and the iron. My choice of fabric is always drop cloths, but I think it was too thick because after peeking, I could see there was no magic happening.
So, I just ironed onto the media.
Be sure to let the iron on cool before removing it.
I ironed my image onto a tote bag. It’s small, and a little fuzzy because my original image was not hi-res enough.
The iron on heat transfer was easy, and I love how it feels on the bag. This application would be great for a shirt for your kids, or it would make a great Mother’s Day Gift.

This is so cute...I am going to have to do this with my logo!
I did not realize that if I just import images and don't do anything else, that after it printing it will cut out right around the images. I know I am missing out on A LOT that this machine can do! Love that you do these little "how-to's"!!
