Barb,

When the legs are on the inside, the bench may tend to be “tipsy” if it’s not deep enough. (from front to back). If you make the seat deep, you can definitely make it easier on yourself and box the legs in on the inside. I did that in the beginning. Putting them on the outside corners gives them a more finished look-in my opinion. 😉
