The plaster of paris added to any paint makes it have a flat sheen allowing it to stick to nearly every surface.

I’m planning to get some shutters from the Restore (Habitat for humanity store) here in Omaha & using it to make a American flag. Would you use the chalk paint and prime it? I’m hoping to get a wooden shutter that’s not been stained or painted – I’m concerned about how to prepare it since I’ve never done anything like this.
