That’s a fun memory Shirley! I’m sooo happy to finally have that laundry tub out of the basement. I thought it was a permanent fixture.

I have a shoot that is in the bathroom closet. It lands pretty close to the laundry area. I know it saves a lot of time. Basements can be scary places. I have a huge hole that leads to a crawl space. It had framed artwork over it for years, but I have put black plastic over it to keep the cave crickets at bay. With getting the basement laundry done in one corner and the workshop done in the opposite corner, the basement is a much happier place to visit now.

Oh your basement laundry room brings back many memories for me… when I was a child, around the age of 10, my parents owned a home (well a few actually) with the laundry in the basement. One in particular where the laundry was directly below the kitchen and directly below their mater bedroom upstairs. They devised a laundry shoot through a closet in the bedroom and a cabinet in the kitchen to throw all the laundry in and it landed right in the basement sink. As children of course we thought that was so cool! There were a few attempts at throwing ourselves down that shoot but landing in that sink when no clothes were in it…well ouch! It did make the job easier for us to use that shoot though verses having to go all the way to that dark dingy basement In the section where the laundry was. The rest of the basement was gorgeous but that end for the laundry was a little scary.

ohhh, it’s just one corner of the basement. But it’s amazing how cleaning it up and painting it makes the chore of laundry less drudgery. Of course the new appliances help me stay on top of everything too!

I have paint my sister gave me back in 09 or 10! I never throw anything out. lol

Krud Kutter removes the glue? I didn’t know that. Maybe I’ll try it on a smaller project.

Your laundry room is to die for! I am so envious! If I had time! I use Krud Kutter adhesive remover for removing 25 year old glues carpet squares off floors etc. It works like a charm! Love Krud Kutter products!
My problem with buying paints and not using them for years is they dry up! :o( So I’ve stopped that.

Wow what a difference paint made. I know a lot of people don’t believe in painting everything (my daughter is one) but, after seeing you and a few other ladies I follow, how the beat and down trodden things that are out there you make new and beautiful again, I am a firm believer in it. I hope you all never get tired at what you do, great job!

It looks great. Baskets at the bottom, for folded items is a good idea. This is what I’ve been looking for, for the garage laundry. I pass these up at thrift stores and yard sales all the time. I wonder how the paint will hold up where the hangers hang?
