Gail, I love this hanging gutter planter. It is just perfect for your arbor, which by-the- way is so dog gone gorgeous.
I don’t think I would put drainage holes in them unless I were going to plant succulents. and I would put some kind of moss on top or mulch to help keep soil in and moisture, you would just have to make sure your soil is dried out good before watering. I have a couple of shallow planters I love that I do this with and it works out really well for me.
I’m going to check with our Home Depot and see if they are offering this class and sign up if they are.
