I actually made this in November of 2010, so after 10 years, I’m not about to change it. 😉

You could use a wider board in place of the narrow bottom trim I used. If you’re okay with the island being counter height, you probably wouldn’t need to add legs. However, I wanted mine higher so I could do crafts and such on it. It has been used for soooo many craft projects over the years, and being high is a real back saver.

I’ve painted it again, as seen in the last image in this post.

Gail, I love your projects! Very inspirational. And esp cost-effective. One comment on the desk into a kitchen island. I feel like the legs are kind of funky. I’m thinking only the wheels should show. Could you consider to add a row of trim board around the bottom and show us how to do it please.
