Then I started on the baseboard. I took up all the boards, numbering the boards and corresponding walls. I removed the nails. Handy Graham taught me how to do this. You pull the nails from the back.
If you pull the nails through the back, they come out quite clean, like this. I puttied these holes too. I wiped the boards down with TSP, and lightly sanded them. I put them on the kitchen table and have put one coat of Kilz on them.
Here you can see I already have a coat of Kilz on the window. There are lots of cracks/separations of the wood. I used some painter’s caulk to fill in all the cracks. Shoot, maybe it will make my living room a little warmer this winter!?
