When my nephew was flooded last month, I helped him paint and he gave me most of his cabinet doors. I painted one and put it in my kitchen: It is so handy for leaving notes for loved ones, and to myself. I never knew how handy a chalkboard in the kitchen could be! The one I made for myself was a good size to hang vertical. Many of the doors I got from him were so skinny that they really need to hang horizontal.
This one I painted with my oops black. I got a gallon of this paint, and I still have a little over 1/2 of it left.
I used D rings for hangers on the back of these chalkboards. I used 3 of them on each of the doors. I put 2 on the end, making the one on the right side easily movable. I also added one on the opposite end , so that these boards can be hung vertically or horizontally.
If you would like to see how I did these in a little more detail, check out one of my earlier posts: Repurposed cabinet door into a chalkboard
