This is me in the hospital. I was experiencing chest pains while preparing for my night classes on Tuesday. I ended up cancelling class and going to the ER near my house. It’s not a full fledged hospital…so after an EKG and a couple of batches of blood work they transported me to another nearby hospital. I had a stress test on Wednesday morning, which I couldn’t complete due to chest pain and nausea.
When the DR examined me before the test he was certain it was nothing. After he reviewed the results he came to my room with a look of shock. He said he’s 90% sure my front artery is blocked. I will be having a heart cath on Thursday morning. If I have at least 70% blockage they will do a stint during that procedure. IF I need further surgery I will be moved to yet another hospital for that.
He told me this is the one they call the widow maker. It’s really a blessing in disguise because Glendale is this weekend and I feel it would not have ended well.
I paid attention to my body, and the signs even though they weren’t the “typical” signs you read about. The pain was not severe, but very strange and scary.
I feel very optimistic about the procedure.
Hoping to update later today. If I am unable to, I’ll have Jamie keep you posted.
I would appreciate positive thoughts and prayers (if you’re so inclined).
