I’ve been really busy lately trying to spruce up the outdoors. It all started with replacing my porch posts, and it just keeps going. Today, I have some outdoor cleaning tips for you while I share how I cleaned my dirty carport.
I have used the AutoRight car Wash Stick to wash my car, and clean the side of my house. Recently while I was waiting for some spackling to dry on a project I was walking by the carport and just happened to notice how dirty it had become. I went right to the garage and grabbed my Car Wash Stick and a bucket!
Here is the nasty, dirty aluminum carport. I’ve never personally cleaned it before. The last time it was cleaned involved a ladder, a carwash mitt and a lot of scrubbing.
This was going to be so much easier!
For my cleaning mixture I used some KrudKutter and a little dish soap. (I like that the KrudKutter is earth friendly) I LOVE that I can load my cleaning solution INTO the handle of the AutoRight Wash Stick !
This photo shows the AutoRight Wash Stick (unloaded) with the handle extended allowing me to reach high up onto the side of the carport.
I have both the Synthetic Lamb Wool Wash Stick and the brush, but chose the brush for this job because of the channels of the aluminum.
The bristles of the brush are not stiff and firm, so they easily conform to the grooves of the channels while being wide enough to clean a nice section of the carport.
I kept the hose close by so that I could rinse off the grime. It was a warm day and I certainly didn’t want the dirt drying on the clean carport.
amazing, right?
Wow, what a job this would have been climbing up and down, up and down, up and down a ladder! This was done totally from the ground.
Keepin’ it real folks. My intention was to use a step stool to get most of the top after getting the side clean so I could lean up against it, but my niece called me and invited me to dinner…. the top portion will have to wait.
I now smile every time I walk by it. Isn’t it amazing how we get “blind” to the everyday dirt we see?
Yep, I think I’ll get the Autoright Wash Stick back out and clean the top, AND wash my car . . . someday soon. hehehehe

My hubby needs one of those, he just got a new pressure washer for his birthday, tried to clean the siding it isn't doing the job. A brush would work better, where did you get your.

Awesome! I know my house siding could use this! You are so smart, and with little effort, makes me smile too. 🙂 I love clean. Oh and cute font on your pin it photo!

My Word!
That did a really good job. I laughed because you saw and went and got your magic wand... er, uh... WASH STICK and got to cleaning.
I still think I need one of these for my camper... you know, after I get it painted and fixed-up.
Actually, need one for my car! There is no carport here on at the Lively manor. 😉
so the trees get my car all gunky.
Hope you had a nice lunch!

WoW! You're so much more ambitious than me--I used the pressure washer (no scrubbing) to get all my stuff cleaned up for the season.
However it gets done--doesn't it just feel SO MUCH BETTER!?
Miss you my friend--
