This comment got lost. hehehe But, I did find the perfect shade at Goodwill yesterday for my lamp. I just had to be patient.

The view? It’s only part-time. It’s at the recreational property I bought with my cousin last spring. We are very close to a move in date where I can actually spend the night there.

Gail, I love that lamp base and I think you chose the right color to repaint it. Neutral is always a winner in my book. The shade, I think, will need to be neutral, too. Maybe a slightly lighter shade than the lamp base. Shape should be on the traditional side as the shape of the lamp leans that way. Good luck finding the shade at a decent price. I find them to be really over-priced unless they are thrift store finds. Thanks for sharing your project!

How you get any work done at all with that beautiful view to gaze at all day is beyond me 🙂 I like the new lamp color. But I am horrible at lampshade choices. Unless it comes straight from the store as part of the lamp I can never find a lampshade that looks quite right. I have a lamp I repurposed from an old thermos that I have been looking for the perfect shade for for at least 5 years!

I love the view from your deck. I’d just sit out there all day. It’s beautiful. The lamp turned out great. I have gotten rid of my lamps. The boys kept knocking them over playing and the puppy had a field day destroying what was left.
