I love looking for junk. Many times when I’m bored it’s my go-to pastime. Lately, I’ve been so busy with real life and DIY projects that I haven’t had time to think about being bored. Vendors’ Village is my favorite place to shop for great bargains. While visiting my booth I did do a little shopping, and as always stuff just ends up in my lap.
Up first, we have this free headboard. I have already repurposed this into a Mission Style Headboard Bench with Storage! This was a really fun project. People are often asking me to make benches with storage and this headboard seemed like the perfect piece for storage.
I found this dining chair at Vendors’ Village for $10. That’s twice my usual limit, but it’s for a special project for my nephew’s wife. She’s a teacher and she wants to trick out this chair with a Dr. Seuss theme for her kindergarten class.
One can never have too many spindles, right? Especially white chippy spindles!!! I got this whole bundle for $8.99. What do you see when you look at them?
I got these three pieces of Home Interior Décor from a friend. I think they’ll be fun to makeover.
Rarely do I forget where I get something. But I can’t tell you where this mirror came from. Have you already seen it? I don’t even know how long I’ve had it. I guess my 61 years is catching up to me. I’ve actually worked on this project. Check back tomorrow for it’s makeover.
As the weather warms I hope to be very busy getting a lot of projects done, and out of the way. The garage is really full. I think there might be some headboards in there that I haven’t even taken pictures of yet. Have you found any great treasures lately?

You got the mirror from Terry when visiting for her mom’s birthday, picture on the Happy New Year, free stuff addition, 2018. I just love how you are able to look at things and upcycle them. I’ve been searching for a headboard to make into a bench, no luck yet. I should say I haven’t found the headboard style that I want…. Had open-heart surgery March 13 to remove a tumor from inside my heart. Just waiting to get clearance to start some of my projects!
Patricia,
Oh my! Open heart surgery-thoughts, prayers and well wishes for you to get back at it very soon. I had a heart procedure and it felt like it took months for me to get my stamina back. Wishing you the BEST!
Thanks for the update on when I got the mirror. It was a blur. 🙂
I have so many headboards in my stash, I never turn down a freebie, or a good deal…. my weakness. hoping to tidy the garage today if it warms up enough.

love all your finds.can’t wait to see what projects are coming soon.
Legs are the first things I’m drawn to on a chair or table or desk, so when I see those spindles I think of a beautiful side table that shows off the shape of the the spindle legs.
I love the idea of a Dr Seuss chair. I’d love to see that finished. The spindles can be a million different things. I don’t remember where I saw it, but some one used all different types and sizes of spindles to make a box with a wooden bottom. They had it as a magazine holder, but I could see a lot of other uses depending on size. I love the chippy paint on them. So many uses. Even small cutoffs would be fun as the hooks on a coat rack.
