It’s cold, too cold to finish the work on the fence. There are no real updates at this time. We recently worked on the caps for the 4×4 posts, and the frames of the gates.
So, today I’ll be sharing a few of my recent finds. I love to go junk shopping when it’s too cold to work.
I picked up these two framed canvases and a vintage lamp at the White Elephant near my home. The Frames were less than $5, and the lamp was on sale for around $5. It’s nice when I can still find stuff that falls under my five dollar limit.
The canvas in the front is in great shape, the one in the back has a big dent in it. Both frames are in great shape.
I really like this one, do you think it’s a keeper? Or should it become a chalkboard instead? If you think it’s worth keeping, should I paint the frame, or leave it as is?
This booth must be closing because all the items were 50% off. This chair was regular $8, so I got it for $4. Was it too much to wish it had a mate?
Check out the sign—I think I should go back today and pick up a few more items . . .
. . . like this $25 sewing cabinet that Cousin Terry thought I should pick up for $12.50. I also think that little stool is cute—I didn’t even see it while I was shopping.
I’ve been on the lookout for a vintage glass pitcher. I found the one on the right for $5.00. Then when I saw the 1/2 price booth I saw the cute one on the left. It was marked $8, but I got it for a mere four bucks!
I got a good deal on this vintage washboard. I saw many of them during this one shopping trip, but this is the one that found a new home.
This is a plastic frame, but I really liked the shape. It’s been at the Vendor’s Village for a couple of months. When I passed by it over the weekend, I just couldn’t resist. I can’t remember the price, I think it was a little over my $5 limit.
There was a booth that was 75%off. Each of these books was marked $1.00, so I got them for a quarter. The one on the right “A Tour of the Whitehouse with Mrs. John F Kennedy was 75% off of .50 cents. If my math is right, I think that made it less than 13 cents.
What do you think? Did I get some good deals? Is there anything in particular you loved? Something you would have totally passed on? Remember, I’d love to hear your thoughts in a comment below about that canvas framed artwork.
What good deals have you found lately?
