Well, I have to tell you I hit pay dirt on my recent finds. Once people know you love junk, it just sort of appears on your doorstep.
Leann cleaned out her garage, and passed some stuff on to me. Heck, she even delivered it to me while I was out to eat with her aunt Bertie!
Check out this old sewing machine. Y’all can’t get mad at me for painting this one, it’s already been painted!
A pair of chunky bar stools.
A table to match the stools.
Did your family have one of these vintage white cribs? Very classic crib design from back in the day.
Aunt Bertie sent along some glass jars.
This small lamp belonged to Leann’s mother-in-law.
While visiting Leann a few days later, I spied this old music stand in her garbage pile. It ended up in my car….
While at a baby shower last month I was given this very vintage croquet set that belonged to my Aunt Polly. I was named after her, so it only seems fitting that it finally found it’s way to my home. It is from the early to mid 50’s, which makes it older than me!
Another thing that might be older than me are these floor joists rescued from a neighbor as he was leveling a floor. These are the heaviest boards I’ve ever seen. I was told they are yellow pine? They are from the olden days when stock 2x lumber was really 2” thick!
Surprise! I will not be repurposing this old croquet set. I clean it up, and have it on display on my fireplace hearth! I’m so sentimental, there is no way I could change it up.
