Hey there! I hope y’all are having a great Monday, and to my USA friends, Happy Labor Day! Summer’s officially over I suppose. I’m anxious for the weather to cool off so I can get busy on some great projects. You know what makes it easier to work on great projects? Recent finds! FREE finds from friends!
These items were dropped off to me while I was on vacation in California. They are from a fellow junker Darryl. He’s sort of getting out of the biz.
This cute little side table definitely needs some TLC.
I’m thinking it needs a new top.
I’m not sure what this is ??? horses? With a red nose, I suppose it could be Rudolph?
This funny little shelf is probably meant to hold a roll of paper towels?
One set of practically new bi-fold doors.
At first glance this seems to be a headboard. It has some intricate details that are difficult to see. Perhaps this is part of a piano? I’ve never played, so I don’t know.
Can you see the faint carving? It has this fun little ledge on it (to hold sheet music?)
Upon closer inspection, I see that the piece separates, and extends to lean a little.
This is the hinge in the back that allows the piece to open and extend. If this piece were hanging on a wall, it would not extend. Any idea what this is, or what it’s purpose was? If it IS part of a piano, I wish I had the rest of it!
EDITED TO ADD: see the piano front makeover
I got a pair of these plastic mirrors. I may paint them with some chalk paint, and leave them alone—to let them be mirrors. Thoughts?
EDITED to ADD: I painted the mirrors, they cook fantastic!
I got a great pedestal bottom…without a table top.
This is a topless nightstand or side table.
I like her cute little legs.
EDITED TO ADD: see the fabulous kid’s kitchen I made out of this old nightstand.
How about a set of two really shabby chairs…
EDITED TO ADD: Wait till you see the triple chair bench I made out of these TWO old chairs.
You can see some recent pallets I picked up in the background.
Thanks Darryl for these awesome items for future projects! I’ll be busy in the upcoming weeks working on projects for Glendale Crossing Days. It’s the only show I do, it’s the third Saturday in October.
Update on my shoulder—it still hurts. It looks like I’ll be headed back to the dr soon.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
