You know that I have this reputation of a junk collector. It generally works to my advantage, and these finds are the perfect example!
One neighbor replaced is wooden screen door, and knew that I would take his old one. Why? Because he gave me his last one a few years ago that I turned into a craft show display piece.
Here ya have it, my newest wooden screen door (sans screen).
The next door neighbor to that neighbor gave me a great cabinet! They are cousins. This guy also gave me some great bookcases a few years ago. This cabinet was stored in the same dark shed and has the same mildew/smell as those other bookcases did.
Here it is in the shed. The floor is damp and decaying, hence the mildew on the cabinet. It’s a nice heavy piece of furniture. As soon as I got it I started cleaning it up and letting some sunshine works it magic on it.
I was offered this chair, but declined. At the last minute I rescued it from the pile of trash. Would you have taken it or left it behind?
I did leave this piece behind. I may end up regretting it, but I’m running out of room!
So, thankfully the door and the chair will take up very little room, but the cabinet will need to be high on the priority list to get it finished and re-homed very soon.
But everything is on hold this week, as I prepare to go to Haven mid-week. I’m excited to see old friends, make new friends, and connect with brands. This is my fourth Haven Conference, and I look forward to next year’s before this year even happens. I love being with people who “get” me.
Do you have any recent finds?
Are you going to Haven?
