Here we are in early July, and I have yet to go to a yard sale! In all honesty, I think I just forget to check listings and make time for it. When I do pass one, I’m generally on my way somewhere and don’t have the extra time. Most of you probably know, I’ve got plenty of projects in waiting to keep me busy for a long, long time. But! When I go to Vendors’ Village to check the booth, I can’t help but pass by some of my favorite vendors to see if they have any good deals. That’s my source of finds these days—well that and free stuff from anyone who offers.
Early in the month I picked up this gaudy gold plastic mirror. It was $2 over my long time limit of $5, but it was in good shape. It wasn’t until I unloaded it and took pics that I noticed it said 1 of 3. It also included a couple of sconces. I phoned the store and told them I had overlooked the sconces, and they said to just bring in the original price tag, and if they sconces were still there I could pick them up.
I’m not sure if these gold plastic sconces are salvageable, they’re pretty ugly. What would you do with them?
I LOVE $5 finds and they happen regularly at my local Vendors Village where my booth is. These goodies came from John’s booth in the back of the store.
Later this week I’ll share a table makeover with you. I needed a couple of chairs to go with it. John dug these out of his stash for me. I got them for $5 each because they needed some TLC and repairs.
Check out this rusted ice cream parlor chair. It definitely needs some work to become a chair again, but it may just become a planter chair.
I’m not sure if this is a table base or a plant stand. What do you think?
Rodney offered me these free table legs while he was cleaning out his garage.
Rodney offered me this chair, but I declined. Then a few days later, I was back asking if they still had it. They did. It’s in good shape, just needs to be cleaned up and painted.
That’s it for this month’s edition of Recent Finds. Have you been going to yard sales? Finding anything good?
