Happy Labor day to you all! I hope that those of you who are here in the good ole USA are enjoying your long holiday weekend. We’re still having some very hot weather, and I’m so ready for cooler temperatures.
It’s been a big week for me where recent finds are concerned. Sometimes I just luck into the best deals!
Since it’s been so hot, I spent the afternoon at my local Vendor’s Village . . .
I couldn’t take the tag off of this desk quick enough. It said old desk, $15, needs work. Ha! That’s my favorite kind of find! hehehe I love all the drawers in this desk.
You will not believe this deal! The tag said “old school t.v. center”. Even after I saw how cheap it was, I still contemplated whether or not to get it because it’s not real wood. But even so, I decided that I could use it for my own storage until I decide what I want to do with it.
Can you BELIEVE this price? I paid for the desk and the t.v. center and arranged to pick them up the next day when I could borrow a truck.
I did take delivery of this $5 chair. It would fit in my car. I just can’t pass up $5 chairs—EVER!
I also got a great deal on this set of flatware from Joey’s booth. He still has the best bargains in town. This was well over my $5 limit, coming in at $20—but I still thought it was well worth the price.
I came across two ads on craigslist for free “drywall wood”. Picking through this lath was not fun. I invited cousin Terry to join me. It was dusty with insulation, and right outside the doorway, as we loaded the truck, we were attacked by more mosquitos than I can tell you.
This is all we managed to get before I told her “I’ve had enough”.
I separated it as I took it off the truck, placing the pieces with nails in this garbage can.
The pieces that didn’t have nails went into this smaller bucket.
On Friday I got a message from my cousin that they “dug out the crib” for me.
It’s in nice shape, but of course it’s not able to be sold due to the new regulations.
On the way home from my cousin’s house, I passed a yard sale and was thrilled to find the $1 coffee table. I have been wanting one JUST like it for a project. Stay tuned!
My nephew dropped off this little bookcase headboard he found on the side of the road. I’m clueless as to what IT wants to be.
What would you do with this stuff? Is there anything you would have passed on? Would you have fought the mosquitos for the lath wood? What about the $1.69 t.v center? Please tell me I’m not crazy for hauling this stuff home.
happy junkin’ to you!
