Wow! It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a yard sale. Saturday morning I headed out at 8:00 A.M, which is VERY early for me to be up and out of the house. Cathy’s son Larry and his wife Kim were having a sale, so I thought that would be my first stop. However on my way to their house, I found a “moving sale”. There were only a couple of items outside, the rest was indoors. Their prices were very reasonable, but not really anything I needed.
It’s hard to see, but I got a brand new (black) lamp shade for $1.00. I was hoping to use it form my teacup lamp. (the shade is actually too small)
The large shade goes to that ugly gold lamp. It was only $2.00. I thought that was pretty reasonable, seeing how the shade is worth that much. I got all three vases for $1.00. I thought they were very unique pieces. I’m not sure what I will do with them. The clock was basically free.
The jeans are petites/short (length) I plan to cut them off to either capris or shorts.
Kenmore sewing machine with cabinet. FREE It’s a little rough, but that’s okay. I can deal with that.
I thought I took pictures of the door hall tree, but I didn’t. I did work on it over the weekend. I’m really liking how it looks. Jamie is opening a booth at an antique mall, so I’ve offered to let her use it for shelving. Maybe it will even sell there!
So, around these parts we call them yard sales. Many people call them garage sales. What are they called in your neck of the woods? I’m curious to know which term is most popular, and if it’s a regional thing.
