Did you know that I went to Nashville a week ago? Jamie and Andy moved and I went there to help out. They had a lot of stuff in their old garage that they were getting rid of. There was some stuff that I had to pass on because it wouldn’t fit in the borrowed pickup truck.
You might notice something that looks like a plant—it is. I took a few starts off of Jamie’s old rosebush. I’m awful at starting them, so if you have any suggestions, I’m all ears!
I picked up some tools left behind years ago by Jamie’s friend. I’m guessing he left the stain as well. It’s all good except the gallon container of dark walnut.
There were a couple of tile saws (left) and some tool kits.
This was the shutter that Jamie had hanging over her electrical panel box to hide it.
Graham (Jamie’s friend) also left these two small sawhorses.
A large level, crowbar, shovel and a nail gun were among the freebies.
In addition, I got these giant masonry bits, and speaking of ginormous . . . I got two of the largest tarps I’ve ever seen!
more free tools, saws, a clamp and a first aid kit
jelly jars, and a drop cloth I had loaned Jamie
Jamie has an antique dresser she once used as a buffet. It’s back in the new house in the guest room as a dresser, but she didn’t want this mirror.
Jamie had this sewing table for years. Truthfully, I’m not even sure if it was ever in the house. It’s really heavy, and in pretty good shape. I’m not sure what I’ll do with it.
These may have been part of a futon. I busted them apart so they would be easier to transport.
I brought this rug home to put in my new booth at Vendors’ Village this week. YES, I am getting a booth to sell my stuff, and it’s really close to home. Today’s my first day—I’ll be setting it up, and filling it up later this week.
There were three things I didn’t get pictures of. See the wheels? That’s a humongous filing cabinet. Right up against the cab of the truck is a church pew that I bought for Jamie years ago right after she bought her first home. It doesn’t really fit her style anymore, so I brought it home. Lastly, a door. It’s on the very bottom of the pile. It’s a really nice exterior door that was taken down at Jamie and Andy’s new house.
After I got all the smaller stuff unloaded, Rodney walked over and helped me unload the last three large pieces and I forgot to take any pics.
Here’s a picture of the file cabinet while it was still in the garage. It’s huge and very, very heavy.
It was a fun weekend! I was happy to be there to help out the kids, and getting all the free junk was just a bonus.
As I move the stuff out of the garage into the Vendors’ Village booth, it will allow me to actually get to some stuff so I can work on new projects as the weather warms. Fun times ahead!
Have you been junking lately?

Wow! What a load of awesome stuff! Can’t wait to see what you are going to do with it.
from one Piscean to another – you ROCK! Tali
good stuff you got! and GOOD LUCK with your new booth!!! i REALLY love that rug~
I always thought roses had to be grafted, I didn’t know you could root them.
It appears as though you got another good haul, one can never have to many tools, right..
I’m sure you will come up with something great for that mirror and sewing cabinet.
You will need to read more on this, but basically, if you take a cutting about 8″ long and stick about 5″ in the ground and cover the above ground 3″ with a glass jar, l use a mason jar, it should start to grow for you.
I have heard of that… I wonder if it’s too cold for that still?
I will definitely try that with one of the longer cuts.

Gail, What a great weekend, seeing your daughter and getting all that free stuff!. I love your blog and how creative you are. I have 2 small but tall tables that I am going to paint and use for plant stands. I hope they turn out as good as your things do. Starting out small and maybe I’ll be able to see new things out of old. Thanks Gail!!
Good luck with your project Mary! You should use some DIY chalky paint. 🙂
Gail if you get any good hints about growing roses, I would appreciate it if you would share them with us. I need all the help I can get about any outside gardening and getting plants for free. Thanks Gail.
