It’s almost September, so I’m going to go on and show you my recent finds from the hottest August I can remember in a long time. I spent very few days working in the shop this past month. But I did collect some new treasures to work on as soon as the weather cools down.
Cousin Terry picked up this bed for me off the side of the road. I love that my family and friends help support my bad habits! She thinks it’s a headboard, but it looks to me like it’s part of a more modern crib. What do you think?
While visiting my booth at Vendors’ Village to tidy up, I spied this $5 table top. Of course I didn’t need one, but for $5, I figure I’ll find a use for it.
This isn’t new to me, but I don’t think I ever showed it to you. It’s the frame of a side table I got from Rodney. (the neighbor that helped me build the diy picket fence)
Lulu Mae is waiting patiently while mom works on a few projects. I brought the pen outside so that she could come beyond the gate and actually “see” me while I worked. The pen opens up at the gate, allowing her full access to the yard, but then a few extra feet so she can see me IN the garage.
Late last week while I was adding some items to my booth, I made a quick run through the back of the store. This is a really nice sized frame and it was only $3. I’m guessing these two are mother and daughter or sisters, what do you think?
I didn’t need more chairs, but these old metal dining chairs were only a buck apiece. I have no idea what I’ll do with them. I rarely have a plan when I pick up my treasures.
This chair is in great shape except for the broken cane seat. What would you do with it? The owner of the booth was pricing stuff and he actually let me have this chair for $6.
The wooden disc is just a thin piece of plywood resting in the circle, I removed it so I could take this picture.
If I needed more chairs, I would have picked up this pair of matching chairs hanging on the wall. Maybe they will be there when I go back next week. They would make a nice chair bench.
I got this one for $4, it’s much heavier than the pieces above.
All in all, not a bad month of collecting! I will be making most of these pieces over and taking them to Glendale Crossing Days in October (Glendale KY)
