My daughter definitely reaps the rewards of my curb shopping. This was a 3 drawer night stand.
I removed two of the drawers, adding plywood shelves in their place. I replaced the hardwood back with bead board. I then raised it off the floor by giving it some legs.
I painted it black…
…but she decided she wanted it brown.
If you look closely, you can see that I added some rope trim to the front of the 2 plywood shelves to dress them up. It’s not shown in the picture, but I used my hole saw to make a hole in the back for her DVD cords.
This is how I worked around this project while I was laying her new floor. I turned it upside down on a blanket. That way I was able to use it as a “shelf” without taking a chance of scratching the top of it.
