Some people still just cut the foot board in half, but I think it’s way too deep that way.

All of mine get the same standard seat depth. (18-19″)

I am wondering if there is perhaps a standard depth of the bench seat when you make from a headboard/footboard and it’s a queens size? Twin is easy but Queen I think perhaps there might be a perferred seat depth. Any thoughts?
