Last week I showed you how easy it is to assemble the Homeright Spray Shelter and although I love using it with my Finish Max, it’s also great to use with spray paint! I’ve been using spray paint a little more lately doing some sponsored posts for Krylon. Not only is it quick and easy, the dry time makes me smile!
So, if you do a lot of spray painting, I definitely recommend picking up a Homeright Spray Shelter.
Clean project before spray painting
I recently dug this out of Leann’s garbage pile when she cleaned out the garage. When I brought it home, I had no idea what I would do with it.
Set up spray shelter
To ready the vintage music stand for spray painting, I washed it. Then took a wire brush to it to try to remove some of that old patina. When spray painting, you shouldn’t paint over dirt or rust.
You can see that I have the Homeright Spray Painting Shelter set up on the edge of the driveway with an old drop cloth for the “floor”. This is actually my favorite place to assemble it. With it right on the edge of the driveway I can use the pins in the three rings in the back. One on each side and the one in the middle.
I used Krylon MAXX in Almond for this music stand.
Use light coats when spray painting
The music stand did take several light coats of spray paint, but overall it was a really simple and quick project that was totally transformed.
Spray painting shelter
It was a little breezy, so I weighted down the front of the spray shelter with my 2×2’s that I always use to hold down my drop cloth when I use my Finish Max.
I love the new look of the vintage music stand with it’s new coat of paint!
I can see this vintage music stand used to hold a guest book at a wedding, or to display a family bible.
So, the next time you have your spray shelter set up, be sure to take advantage of those many small spray paint projects!

As a Homeright Brand Ambassador I get to try out new products and tell you all about them. Even though I was compensated for this post, I can assure you all thoughts, opinions and projects are my own.
I LUV that music stand! Are you selling it?
