I haven’t been to a yard sale all summer. It was just too hot. This past weekend was an annual neighborhood yard sale. It is a really big one. The weather started out rainy and cool, but ended up sunny and warm. I parked my car and walked around a HUGE block, stopping at almost every sale. At one of the homes I ran into an old friend (she was a seller not a shopper) Candy. I went to elementary school with Candy but lost touch with her over the years. Then as we got older, we were reacquainted as I had all three of her boys in my class. Long story short, as I was walking down the driveway from that house, there was a lady next to me. I looked up and it was Cathy! hahaha Now this neighborhood is huge! I couldn’t believe I ran into her. From that point on, we shopped together as we made our way back to my car. I spent less than $10.00.
My first purchase was two picture frames. This one is so pretty. After I took the picture I put it in the “frame dept” but then wondered… should I put it in my bedroom? Still thinking about it. This frame would make a beautiful shadow box, although it does look pretty on its own. Undecided. $2.00
This is the other frame, smaller than the first one. $1.00
Baggies of hardware .50 cents each.
Lots of unique pieces.
Some pieces are downright odd.
A very old saucepan. $1.00
That is all I got from the yard sales.
Some of you may know that I won a $100.00 gift card from Home Depot, courtesy of:
I told my Purdy story at You Can Save The Walls and won a $100.00 card of my choice from Home Depot, Lowes or Menards. No brainer for me. You can click that little save the walls banner and enter for yourself. If you love Purdy and have a Purdy story to tell, or if you have a paint question, it will enter you for a DAILY $100.00 gift card giveaway. If you win, you only need to send me some oops paint so I can use MY Purdy brush to make something pretty. *wink*
You know I love a good bargain! I plan to paint my kitchen cabinets so I’m trying to get prepared by purchasing a compressor and a paint sprayer.
I’m hoping this compressor will be good enough to run the sprayer I’m getting. The young fella at Home Depot said if it doesn’t work I can bring it back. I opened up Sunday afternoon and took it for a test drive. I really know nothing about operating one of these puppies. I have ordered a paint sprayer from Harbor Freight.
You know I can’t go to Home Depot without buying some lumber from the cull bin. Nice wide boards for .51 cents each.
I love, love, love getting tinted Kilz! $1.00, and as always the little sample jars are .50 cents each.
I also picked up some pvc pieces for a project I have in mind.
I got some good bargains this past week, how about you? I hope you were able to go to some yard sales. Fall is my favorite time to go to yard sales.
