Three long days of cleaning and organizing the garage. I’m so over it. Seriously, I feel like I just want to burn all the wood that I haven’t found a home for.
I snapped a picture of the 20 year old cabinet. It’s been very useful over the years, but being pressed wood, and getting wet—it’s time to say goodbye.
First up on Wednesday was to buy a couple of shelving units. This one holds all of the paint and stains. It sits in the general local of the former wooden cabinet.
The shelving units don’t have flat shelves, so I used a bunch of the pieces of the wooden cabinet to make shelves for the plastic units. This is about the only thing that went to the garbage can.
This is where we left off yesterday. I cleaned out this entire area, and placed another shelving unit there.
It holds a bunch of screws, knobs, hinges and hardware.
I also organized most of the spindles and legs. You can see the sun shining in. I’m happy it’s not raining, but I got pretty hot doing this job!
At the end of the day, I was pretty tired of sorting lumber and stuff, so I took some time to organize a few of my tools on my new pegboard. I’ve never hung my tools before, I think I’m going to like this.
I doubt that I’ll ever do much building on this bench, but it’s nice to have for simple/quick project.
Today’s task—the front 1/3 of the garage. My goal is to get it cleaned out, and get everything put back in today. It won’t be finished, but I have other things I need to get to late today and this weekend. The rest of the organization and sorting will have to wait until after my Glendale Show.
I just want.it.to.be.done.
