I have a great project to share with you today using my new Canon PIXMA MG7120 printer, and some reclaimed scrap lumber pieces.
I printed these on my new wireless Canon PIXMA MG7120.
What you’ll need:
- Printable
- Canon PIXMA MG7120
- PIXMA Cloud APP
- Scrap Luan (thin plywood)
- Rustic reclaimed wood (I used old fence boards)
- Clamps
- Wood Glue
- Tape Measure
- Sandpaper
- Saw
- Scissors
I trimmed my printable to fit my board, and spread some wood glue onto my reclaimed wood frame pieces, and placed it right on the edge of my plywood. I didn’t glue the paper to the plywood because I didn’t want any wrinkles.
I used several clamps to hold the frame pieces in place till the wood glue set up.
In this picture, I have it displayed on a rustic easel I made out of the some other small pieces of reclaimed fence.
I made one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas.
I’ll be showing it off on my Piano Front that hangs in my kitchen.
I am really loving my new #CanonPIXMA printer! I love great chalkboards, but we all know I could never write so pretty on a chalkboard, so this faux chalkboard is the next best thing!

This post is sponsored by Canon USA and Burst Media. They sent me this printer to review. All thoughts, opinions, and projects are my own.
I’ve been holding on to a crib rail for almost one year!!!
I knew i would fine something amazing to do with it!!
Thanks a MILLION! !
Gail…I have an old but still working PIXMA IP 4200. Did you use white ink and black paper? Mine has 2 blk and C/Y/M.
Also I would love to redo my fireplace as the orange peel, pink glossy brick is about to send me over the edge. There is also a frame of glue/fiber from an old insert that was taken out. I have gas logs now. And my hearth is at floor level.
Wish my mind would work like yours—I can’t even imagine where to begin. I’ll send a pic if you want. It’ll redefine ugly for you.

No, I used white paper. Someone mentioned using a lot of black ink, but I don’t feel like it used a lot of ink because it didn’t look wet or thick when it came out of the printer.
Sure, send me a picture of your fireplace. 🙂 Mine is still one of my favorite home projects. So glad I changed it up.

So so cute Gail! Pinned!
I love these. My writing looks like a five year olds on a chalk board 😉
Well, now are those nifty!
And they’d make a sweet gift for sure…

What a great idea! How does this printer do with photos? I’m looking for a new printer. 🙂
This is adorable! I wish I could print like that on a chalkboard too!
