I needed something to firm up the spindle. I had this weighted bottom from the lamp I just got this past weekend. I used the weighted bottom, a couple of washers and a makeshift cotter pin (nail). I clamped the spindle and carefully drilled a hole through the center of the spindle.
I fit a dowel to the knob. Here, I am trying to see what size hole I need to drill in the end of the spindle.
I cut some of the spindle off with my compound miter saw because I felt it was too tall. I clamped the spindle to my work table and drilled a hole in the end. (not shown)
Sometimes I get so busy tinkering I forget to pick up the camera!
I still love my jute balls.
There ya go! A funny, unique bowl for display. Suggestions? Thoughts? What would YOU put in this bowl?
