Apparently I’ve been on vacation for a couple of weeks. Make that about 3.5 weeks! I’ve done a few projects, but I haven’t used any tools, and I’m feeling the need to dismantle or build something. I redid Jamie’s pew chair, and did a couple of quick paint makeovers that I’m going to show you today. But I really need to do a project! Hopefully this week will be productive.
I recently showed you this small side table. I got it from my cousin Terry several years ago.
It had a few issues on the top.
Love the details on the legs.
I sent it to the paint booth…
I’m loving the finish I get with my CommandMax and Behr paint. (not paid for this, just genuinely love these products)
While I had the paint and the sprayer out…I tackled another project.
Do you remember this project? I cut a chest of drawers in half and made this cute bench.
But then I got a little crazy with the paint. Yeah, it’s pretty u.g.l.y. I didn’t leave it the solid yellow because it had some broken veneer and other issues. I drug it out of storage and used some spackling to fill those areas better. (not shown)
Then it took a trip to the paint booth too. (Maybe I should call it the wood shed, since it is a wooden framed out carport.)
Ohh, if you look closely you can see another project in the left corner.
voila! better? I think so!
I rarely paint drawers, but I decided this one needed to be painted. Do you think the back should go? Stay? Do you think a vinyl saying would be appropriate?

Gail,
Have you considered a swirl or a flourish to decorate the stool with? If you type in “Swirl” into the search on the Silhouette shop I came up with 27 pages to choose from (which includes flourishes).
I do like the new color on the bench as well as on the table.
I vote for keeping the back and will be interested to see if you end up adding a design and/or cushion. I like the darker color. : )

Great job. I really like the new color and think the back would be a help in keeping a cushion in place should you choose to add one.
This is a much better color, it’s a keeper. I wouldn’t want letter’s but since it’s not mine you have to decide.lol
I love the little table as it is but agree with some others that the bench is screaming for some decorative detail either on the back or the top…and what a clever idea for a bench at the foot of the bed!
they both look fabulous! i love classic black- instant update!
It looks great Gail! I know what you mean about vacation 🙂
Another wonderful project. loving the black color. I’m thinking…keep the back on the bench and add some Vinyl. have a wonderful day!

Another great project! Loving the black.
I like the table painted…good job.
I like the little bench…I say keep the curvy back and stencil it!
Lovely, Pat
I think the bench could go either way with the back. But I agree with the others, a saying on it would finish it off if you leave it on. I like it better in black btw
Love that bench. I think a vinyl saying of some sorts would make it POP!! Also, where is you paint booth? I’m looking for somewhere to paint stuff and i am stuck? I have to always take my stuff down after I paint.
You do a great job with the paint spraying. I think the back of that bench needs something on it, but I’m not sure just what!
I love it as is (the table too), but yes, I think the back is screaming for a little something!
I was thinking maybe a little wood ornament on the back (surely you have a bunch of those laying around) and the quote on the seat or in the middle of the drawer. Just my two cents!
I love the look, and think that bench should stay just as it is. Beautiful!
I love the new color. But the back definitely needs something. Love the little stand too.

The back almost has the shape of an antique sign, so I think it’d be the perfect spot for vinyl lettering to play off of the shape. Otherwise I think it’d be better without the back…as is the scale seems a little off {but I think the lettering will give it better balance}
It looks wonderful with the new paint!
Like the new look better too. The back looks very low, unless you decorate it, I would take it off.
Have a sweet Wednesday,
Sue
I love the new color! Not a huge fan of the glazed look, this is so much nicer. The table is as cute as could be too. Amazing what a coat of paint can do!
I think a vinyl on the back of the bench, perhaps in an oval shape (border)?
