I was too lazy to check if anyone had this idea already . . . what about using it to put bags of microwave popcorn in?
Do you have to buy special paint to paint the glass? I am kind of in awe. I didn’t know you could do that…How did you do that? I wanna do that! So, primer, then paint? Wow…
the matchholder is super cute! maybe it can be a mail center?
I need to make one of those cake stands… I’m always making cupcakes.. too cute!
Use it in the bathroom as a ‘guest napkin’ holder- those little paper towel things.
The cake stand looks great! I haven’t tried painting glass yet, but I think I have some projects that could use a new look. And the match dispenser, maybe you could use to hold a dispensing bag of birdseed.
Lots of fun stuff here! I think the painted oregano server looks amazing! I haven’t tried spraypainting glass yet. Looks very cool 🙂
Love the tiered stand, great color!
Love the cake plate. Very nice. Your daughter has taken after you with the spray paint!! LOL
Busy gal as per usual!
The match holder thing is fab, I don’t know what I’d do with it yet, but I definitely wouldn’t paint it…it has great patina.
You’ll come up with something wonderful and original that’ll knock our socks off. Just like always!
Have a wonderful week!
Anne
Holy crow, Gail, you HAVE been busy! I love it all – especially the cute pooch!! 🙂
Whatever you do, please don’t paint the matchbox holder, it is so pretty as is.
-pencil/pen holder in office
-scrubby holder by kitchen sink
-can you morph it into some sort of wall sconce?
-some freshly cut flowers would look pretty in there, or some nice fake ones
Maybe just mount it on the wall to look pretty.
First off – thank you for linking me you wonderful, wonderful fairy-blog-mother you!!! Much love!
Second, I can’t believe I never thought to paint the cake stands… I was going through trauma paying horrific antique store prices for cute china, and you knocked this one out of the ballpark, woman! It looks fabulous!!!
Third. Just my stupid opinion, but that match stick holder would be mounted on the wall over my bench, and would hold all of my most favorite paint brushes. Fitting respect for the brushes that lend me so much joy.
Have a fabulous night!!!
Cupcake stand is gorgeous. Would the match holder be big enough to hold soap or decorative soaps? Wrapped candy? Note paper and a pen for notes? A votive candle in the bottom? A string/twine holder? Ok, that’s all I can think of right now. I will probably dream of something and be back tomorrow :).
I was also thinking a business card holder. I’m sure you will come up with some great idea.
I love what you did with that cake holder!!! 🙂
I think that match holder is gorgeous as is. On a shelf, or on top of a piece of furniture. Use a plate stand or something else to hold it up!! Cute!
Love the plate holder! Beautiful! Be blessed. Cindy
That is not only adorable but I think you should make me one!!! Love it….ok…I might have to “steal” this idea too.
Cheers~

I love the way the cake plate came out! Very pretty! 🙂
Gail love the chippy look of your match holder.
I have one of those in the winter it holds matches…
but,
in the summer, it holds the remote to the window A/C! Honey thinks the remote should be near the A/C unit, but I say– it is a REee-MOTE
so it should be across the room. Well, this little box holds and I always know where it is! I can control the A/C when I’m walking out of the room at nite, it’s right there and I can turn the thermostat back up for evening.
Love the cake stand and it’s so pretty how you decorated it all!
What are the dimensions on the match holder? You are one busy bee Gail!
Hey Gail:)
I LOVE the cake stand. Ive seen others in blogland stack the plates and taper holders but have never really seen one I like. I dont like the plate patterns showing and then the contrast of the taper holders is just never “right”…for my taste anyways. So I LOVE that you painted it all and the color is fresh and new.
As for the matchbook holder…my mom has the very same one in black hanging at our summer cottage. But they actually use theirs for its intended purpose. How about hanging it on the wall, esp next to a wall mounted phone with a tall notepad and some pens in it? Just a thought.
Sarah
Wow, that plate stand is fabulous!! The match holder looks just the right size to hold individual face cleansing cloths – the dry kind that you wet yourself. Just a thought 🙂
gail,
love the “repurposed” plate stand! the color is yummy too.
as for the match holder, what about a faux vase…using perhaps a salt shaker or very narrow tall bottle to place within with some simple flowers.
a coin/change holder in a laundry room with a piece of screening glued on front scroll area.
what breed is your grand dog? we have a cairn terrier that is similar in color & size, and boy does ours need a haircut! it’s been a long winter.
judi 😉
Don’t know the dimensions of the match holder but it would make a cute business card holder.
Sylvia
Hi! Long time lurker first time commenter. The match dispenser… not sure how big it is, but could it be painted smooth and attached to the inside of a bathroom cabinet – or even hung on a wall – as a cotton ball or q-tip dispenser?
look at that staging!!! way to go on the cupcakes and cute easter egg!!
