Small Rustic Chalkboards

I have a really simple project today, but I’m so excited about it/them. I LOVE everything chalkboard, and it doesn’t get any easier than these simple rustic chalkboards.
When you do as many projects as I do, you accumulate lots of scraps. I have tons of scrap (thin)plywood. And you already know I have many, many extra fence boards laying around.
Doing a dry fit to make sure like the way the rustic chalkboard is going to look.
After making one chalkboard, I decided I just had to make more! I cut random sizes out of my scrap plywood, and used chalkboard spray paint to cover them.
Then I got out my stash of clamps and Gorilla Wood Glue. Less is more with the glue. You don’t want the glue to ooze out all over the place.
Some of the fence boards were a little warped so I had to use more than one clamp on a few boards.
I like the random sizes.
I wrote on the rustic chalkboards. I believe I may use them for price tags for my upcoming craft show, Glendale Crossing Days.
Some have the rustic edge bordering the chalkboard, while a couple have the newly fresh made cut bordering the chalkboard.
I made one for my piano front piece that hangs in my kitchen. I like that I’ll be able to change it out with other phrases, or even put it somewhere else when I want to.
Did you see all of my other rustic fence projects?
I wonder what will be next?

I think you should put these in your Etsy shop. They would compliment your other signs and the brides can use them for the food tables, sweet tables or gift tables..
I love them! I’ve really gotta get some spray chalkboard… it looks so much easier!
Great simple project Gail!
I love these!
I like the randomness of sizes too.
Would make great price signs—I like the one on your piano piece too.
