I love easy, customized gifts that don’t break the bank. While my daughter Jamie was visiting for Thanksgiving, she picked up some cute little monogrammed ring dishes at Hobby Lobby for a few friends. Because I have a lot of vinyl and my own electronic cutting machine I decided to DIY it!

I ordered these small white dishes (sauce bowls) on Amazon. I had looked at the Dollar stores and couldn’t find anything small enough. These are 3” in diameter, the perfect size! I washed them and removed the stickers, then got busy cutting out some vinyl to make my diy monogrammed ring dishes.
Using my Silhouette Portrait I cut some of their gold vinyl in lowercase letters using the font Adorable. I drew a 2×2” square on my project area, and used the replicate function to make more squares. That way I could make sure all of the letters fit inside those squares. Weeding the extra vinyl away was very easy since I used the squares. I didn’t use any transfer tape, I simply placed the letters on the dishes with my hook tool. Since they are round, it really didn’t matter which way they were facing, just so they were relatively centered.
I really love this font, and the gold vinyl on the white dishes. Wouldn’t these be perfect for family, friends and bridesmaids? Slip them into a black velvet pouch, and voila, you’re all set!
I’m sure I’ll use mine on the bathroom vanity for my necklace and everyday earrings, but for now I placed a couple of rings in it because they look better.
Where would you use a diy monogrammed ring dish?

This is the best, cheapest, and cutest idea ever Gail!!!!
Thank you so much Susan! I’m really excited to give them as gifts this year. I wish I had ordered more of the little bowls, but I wasn’t sure I would love them. I’m always looking for a great gift for craft shows… I think I’ll make some of these for Glendale next year.
