I’ve been working on smaller projects, like this fun game board table.

Disclaimer: Today, I have an easy display table for a game board. I understand that some people may not like the content of this post. A friend of mine requested this custom order. Perhaps you could use the idea with your favorite game board.

    Sorry Game Board Box

Back in the Summer I picked up this small table and a Ouija Board (not pictured) at a thrift store.

The table is very versatile, having two sets of shelves, a magazine rack and 3 small drawers.

The little game board table got a quick makeover of some gray primer during one of my Finish Max marathons. I like using gray primer under black paint.

First, I chose some wide crown molding to frame out the table, making the cuts on my compound miter saw.

I sprayed it Beluga Black when I sprayed the t.v. console….it’s so easy to do multiple projects at once.

Next, I used Gorilla Wood Glue to attach the game board. Don't you love how crazy the pattern is on the glue application? It brings out the artist in me!

So, then I glued the trim and used my nail gun to secure them.

There was a small gap which I filled with painter’s caulk, and then touched up the paint.

So, there you have it, another simple project checked off, one that could be done with YOUR favorite game board. What kind of game board table will you make?

I would have never perdicted it would be that nice. did you use tarot to pick your Color? Ithink this is super cute. I might try it for my daughter; maybe with some gold leaf trim and a protection spell embossed in the magic alphabet. -

Beautiful,- but since I dont allow an ouija board in my house(bad experience with one as a young adult) it would have to be a Scrabble board!!!
      Awesome concept tho!!

Stay the double hockey sticks away from ouija boards...these things are really demonic..they open the door to some very unwanted activity in the home and in the lives of those who mess with them.

That being said...the table is a nice idea for other, family oriented and 'safe' games such as monopoly.

I have 2 end tables much like this one and I would love to do the paint effect minus the game board of course, could you please give step by step instructions from beginning of primer to the end result? I am assuming you sanded the stand first??? joyghoover@aol.com

I didn't sand first. I just used the very flat DIY Chalk Paint primer, then the latex on top of it.
