Repurposed Cabinet Window Seat for Cats

I don’t remember where I got this cabinet. It was either $5.00 at the Habitat for Humanity Restore, or a curb find. If you look closely in the background, you will see some giant bun feet. If you have ever looked at one of the major home stores for bun feet, you know how expensive they can be.

However, if you keep an eye out for curb couches, it’s easy peasy to jump out of your vehicle, and quickly unscrew the 4 feet off of a couch! I’ve done it more than once! Here you can see that I have attached the bun feet. If you remember this dresser turned into a bench, and use your imagination . . . you can tell that the top to this project was originally part of that dresser. The top fit perfectly side to side, but I did have to cut some off of the back because it was too deep.

I love the way it turned out. I originally intended it to be a bench, but the gigantic bun feet make it sit to high.

But it’s not too high for the kittos! As you can see it fits perfectly under the window. Here you see Miss Kitty relaxing, probably dreaming about catching a bird or a squirrel. She and Matt are indoor cats, but they love looking out the windows. I use non-skid bath rugs for them to lay on. They are soft, and easily washable.

This is not the regular place for their food bowl. The grand dog Louie came to visit for about 6 weeks. I had to put their food up out of his reach. (edited to add-Louie never left….he’s still here)

This is Matthew Dillon taking a nap last winter. Underneath that fleece blanket is a heating pad! I do spoil my kittos! I won’t show you the inside of the cabinet, but I do make great use of the space. It holds my computer/printer/office supplies.

A great repurpose furniture project, if I must say so myself!
