I had this old rusty serving tray. I sanded off the rust, primed it then used yellow spray paint to freshen it up.

Then I used this morning glory tatouage rub on to add some color. (I used the clear spray sealant to seal the tray when I was finished)

Tatouage is very easy to apply. You simply rub it on with a tongue depressor.

Rubbing it completely making sure all of the piece transfers.

Here is the completed tray in all it’s “glory”!

Since it is metal, it can be used as a magnetic memo board or as it’s original intended purpose, a tray!

I’ve been working on the pieces to compliment my media base. I’ve almost got them completed. It was such a fabulous weekend (weather wise). I’m really ready for Spring to arrive! Hopefully I’ll have pics to share tomorrow.

What a great repurposing project!!! Quick question...does the tray need to be sealed to protect the rub-on? I'd be concerned that the rub-on would get scratched from use.

I love the "iron on" type decorative things. I have used a few on furniture pieces that I have redone. Sooooooo easy! This looks great!

Very pretty--I love that yellow. I have been seeing a lot of yellow lately, wondering if it is the hot color for spring.

I'm with Leanne, I never would though that was the same tray! Where's my spray paint?
