kids bench made from two chairs

I got two of these chairs from the curb. I had wanted to make one of these type of benches for a long time. I made this last year when I first started repurposing items. I have learned a lot since then.

I learned things like how to add legs. If I were to make this today, the legs would be built into the box as opposed to sitting "inside" the box as seen above.

You can see in this picture that I have added the seat.
I painted it white, on my handy dandy drop cloth. It also was a curb find, sort of. It was given to my daughter from a movie set she worked on as an intern one summer during college. It was really big, so I cut it in half. I planned on using the other half for some kind of project, maybe a floor cloth?

Here is the finished project after I added some paint to bring out the details. It sat in my living room for over a year to hold some special stuffed animals. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this bench now... I thought I might keep it for some g'babies, but I think I may try to sell it. I can always make another one! 🙂

I updated this project by changing up the seat and updating the color, it's now a sweet garden bench.
