Turquoise Window Cabinet/Shelf

Little did I know when I made this window cabinet shelf (of course without a hubby) that I was using the new color of 2010! I had 4 of these windows:
Repurposed Window Cabinet 1, and Repurposed Cabinet with a Window 2
I had two windows left, one of which was very wonky! One of the panes of glass was broken. I know I could have cut a new piece of glass, but I was wanting to do something a little different.
This is my first time using mdf. I got the mdf out of the cull bin at home depot.I didn’t realize that it was so much thinner than the 1×4’s I usually use.I was afraid to try to use nails to attach my window to the mdf.
I used the Gorilla Glue to “glue” the window to the cabinet! I can’t believe how strong this stuff is. Since there will not be any weight bearing down on the window frame, I am very confident that it will hold forever!
I have sold this on Craig’s List. The lady that bought it was really happy with it. She told me they were updating their bathroom. I gave her some extra paint in case the cabinet ever needs a touch-up.

Gail, This is simply amazing. You have done a fabulous job! Love the color! Gorgeous! Thanks so much for joining The DIY Club this month! We greatly appreciate it! ~ Stephanie Lynn
What a great way to use an old window! And I love the color too. I have had that color all over my house for the last 5 years and it is so funny to see it everywhere now!
Love it, wow you did a great job! Wish I had one
my hubby is making a cabinet with an old window as the door. Very similar to your’s. I have been looking for a cool, old fashioned looking latch. Where did you get yours?
AWESOME!! Love this! And how thoughtful of you to give her extra paint!
Just found your blog, I am following and I will be back!

So seriously awesome I’m giddy! Love old windows but you took it to the next step. I’ll never view it as ‘just a window’ again.
Thanks for linking up to SNS!

That is so cute!! Well done!
This just a wonderful idea, I have a round table that I have been wanting something with height to put on it. I may try a version of this. You have inspired me, thanks you.

Seriously…You will never cease to amaze me!!! I LOVE it!!!
I so love this! -and the color! I picked up (trash) 2 great windows, but they have metal in the back…Should I even bother trying to get that whole part off?
