Gail strikes again! This is amazing! I know you took the round top off the table but if it were me, Id put it back on, cut down the table legs and make it into a coffee table…but that’s just me b/c I’m in the mood for wanting a round coffee table ๐ Or it could be an outdoor clock like for a pool area (as long as it were under a covering) I cant wait to see what you do with it.

What Sarah didn’t know was I had already given the table base a new top, and it had already found a new home. But!
Do you remember these legs that I found when I cleaned out the shed?
Look what happens when I put the table top on them!
Yep, I like how it’s looking! I think it’s a perfect fit.
I painted the legs with 2 coats of primer, and then did a dark walnut stain as a glaze. Is that cheating? Going right from primer to stain? I didn’t see any sense in putting semi-gloss or gloss paint on and then staining over that.
The legs are a rectangular shape. In this picture the table faces the narrow side.

In this picture the table faces the wider side of the legs. Miss Mustard Seed would be pleased to know that this clock “spoke” to me and told me it wanted to be a table again. Well that and my friend Sarah’s words were still sloshing around in the ole’ brain. I sealed the top with several coats of polycrylic. Sometimes it takes me weeks to totally finish a project. As of now, the hardware to hang this is still on the back. I thought maybe it would sell easier if it were a table. But if someone chooses to remove it from the legs, it’s alright with me.

I used a similar technique on a faux pocket watch, you can see here.
I love that table. I think it’s a great idea to leave the hanger on the back of the clock. That way if someone loves the clock but not on the legs, you can take it apart for them and the legs can be used in another project. It’s a good thing I don’t live near you or Rose. I’d be in real trouble. ๐
