Greetings! I’m MeganDVD from Beauty in the Attempt, and I couldn’t be more excited to be guest posting for my “Blog Mom” Gail. I adore everything Gail does, so I jumped at the opportunity to share a craft that is “Gail-worthy.” I chose to take 2 elements that we { Gail and I} love: free “junk” & chalkboard paint. I will admit that the driving force behind this idea was that I have yet to incorporate chalkboard paint into my little world. I know it is sooo 2010, but I would be I fooling myself  if I was not longing for a little chalkboard in my life. Trust me…you will think it is brilliant too. Have a million of these little babies hanging around in a kitchen drawer? Well now you can do something with them….something that is so simple, cheap, and brilliant.

Once you gathered a few here and there over the next  few days, weeks, or  months..add a little paint to them…a little chalkboard paint.

And you will have the cheapest, most adorable chalkboard tags ever. 🙂 Just look…

There are just a million things you can do with these.
From making your bill basket as cute as it can be..even if it does have to store your bills.
To a delightful way to bring your sweets to your neighbor’s party.
To tagging that thoughtful something in the most unique way.
And of course…as the icing on a present from you to your special someone.
Now let’s say you don’t have countertop samples cluttering up a drawer. Well, you know where you can find them.. at any homestore {favorite places of Gail might I add}. And trust me, if you make nice with the kitchen/bath associate…they will probably supply them for you with as many as you like..for FREE.

But what if you don’t have chalkboard paint? Well here is an even more darling secret: use a chalkboard wet erase pen {available at Hobby Lobby so grab that 50% off coupon before you go out which will make it around $3 with taxes}.

This pen will work like magic because as long as you work on a flat, non-textured surface..you will have a tag to use at your delight. After writing on the tag just wash it off with a wet rag. Think of all the colors and the possibilities.

So there you have it…my most brilliant craft idea. I hope it was “Gail-worthy” to share with all her lovely readers. 🙂 Hehehe.
Thank you Blog Momma! 🙂
You’re welcome blog daughter! Now, ya’ll hop on over to MeganDVD’s   Beauty in the Attempt and see what else she’s been up to! Because she really is quite talented!
Through my blog I have met many wonderful friends. Some are still “unmet” in real life, others I’ve been fortunate in the fact that they actually live in my “neck of the woods”. MeganDVD is one of those bloggers that I’ve actually met in real life. We’ve enjoyed brainstorming on special blog hops, and we get together for lunch at the drop of a hat er um I mean—miter saw. Yep, I’ve put down the tools and rushed out the door for a lunch opportunity a time or two. MeganDVD is the brains behind my bird nest chalkboard tags. She told me about them, and I fell in love with the idea! I’m sure you’re going to love them too!
