I love all of the Finish Max products, but for big projects, the Homeright Finish Max Pro is the best option. It’s more lightweight because the motor is separate of the spray gun. My niece Leann and I made a deal. I needed some old fence boards for my Etsy shop, and she wanted a new fence. I got a great deal on some new boards, and she is carefully taking down the old boards and saving them for me. Then the nice folks at Thompson’s WaterSeal offered me a chance to try out their new waterproofing stains. They have 5 colors and each come in
- Transparent (Provides complete outdoor wood protection by adding subtle color)
- Semi (Adds beautiful color while still allowing some wood grain to be seen)
- Solid (Hides the wood grain while allowing wood texture to show)
So, off I went with my HomeRight Finish Max Pro to tackle Leann’s fence. I don’t remember exactly how many sections of fence she has, but she’s been slowly replacing the boards whenever she gets the time. I of course love the look of the perfectly weathered gray boards.
Leann chose Acorn, in the Transparent finish. I have my trusty Finish Max Pro all ready to make this job a breeze! It’s great for all paints and stains, but because the Thompson’s WaterSeal is water based, it sprayed great and cleanup was easy too!
Using an extension cord, the power cord and the hose on the Finish Max Pro allows me to reach all the way down the front sections of fence. I started on the left and worked toward the right. Leann chose not to replace the 2×4 cross boards, and I like the way the Thompson’s WaterSeal helps all the boards match better, even using the Transparent option.
Leann got in on the action too! She chose to do the wide horizontal spray option for the vertical boards, then spin the nozzle around to do get a vertical spray to do the cross boards. The Finish Max products all have an adjustment that will spray a pattern from 1-6”.
I keep a chip brush in my Finish Max bag—it really comes in handy if I have drips. I just kept it in a tub of water and shook it out if we got too close to the fence and got a run. The Thompson’s WaterSeal is a great consistency for spraying. It does say “do not thin”.
Look how great the fence looks, and how there is very little stain on the grass! That’s my favorite part about the Finish Max products, so little over spray! TIP: The Finish Max Pro comes with two paint cups. We tag teamed this job. While someone was spraying, someone else was filling up the empty cup with stain. It really was a time saver!

We really should do the deck this year. We have a lot of projects that this gadget would work so well for. Thanks!
I own my own business and I have been wanting to paint a mural on the outside wall. This would be so helpful in making that plan a reality!!
My house! Top to bottom!
I need it to use on 10 bi-fold doors that we got at Home Depot. It is going to be a pain to try to hand paint or spray paint those suckers!!!
I have 2 daughter who have worked hard to save enough money to purchase homes at age 19. They are 24 and 26 now They both have a deck and one has a wood privacy fence.I’d love to win this for them. They worked hard for it,It would be a nice thing to give to them. 🙂
OMG, we have two small decks, an 18 x 24 foot deck, and a shed porch floor to stain!!! The thought of BRUSHING on all of that stain, has caused us to put off doing anything at all! My husband and I would LOVE to win this sprayer, and after all the decks and porch floors are done, I can use it to help me up cycle furniture! It would be a win-win situation! Thank you so much for the opportunity to win!

I have a house to paint by myself as well a fence that needs painting…not that my better half wouldn’t help if he could…but he’s handicapped in a wheelchair…love your site..many nifty repurposes…
I have SO many projects that I could use this on, but the big one this summer is a fence just like this one! This would save the day!
My friend, LeeAnn recently used TWS with a sprayer on her fence and new deck. I was surprised how she manged to get great coverage without over-spray. I want to use a sprayer to stain our large deck.
What a wonderful must have! Very cool! Thanks for all your great projects
My first project would be a louvered door I bought at the restore, then on to a desk and sewing machine cabinet I want to paint. I’ve seen you do so many wonderful projects using your Homeright Finish Max pro, with such great results that I really want one.
This would so get used at my house all the time!
