Good morning! Are you getting tired of windows? memo centers? I hope not. I have a lot of windows in storage. This idea is not my own, nor is it anything new. I’m just going to show you my take on making a window memo board.
I have had this window for a long, long time! It was missing several panes.
The panes that were in tact were painted blue.
I used the panes to make a pattern for 2 pieces of lauan plywood. I painted one with chalk board paint, the other with magnetic paint.
I used a spare piece of ceiling tile to make pieces for 2 of the panes.
After I had spray painted it and tested all the pieces, I decided it needed a little sumpin sumpin.
I added some scrap crown molding to trim it out.
After I spray painted the trim. The white pieces in the middle are the original panes of glass. I scraped off the blue paint, and spray painted one side (the back) with white paint.
It can be hung with the trim at the top.
It can also be set on a counter or table.
Top left, magnetic board. Both middle sections dry erase. Bottom right chalk board. Two pieces covered in fabric memo boards.
Glass with white spray paint on the back, makes for a perfect surface to write on.
Which way do you like better? Trim at the top? or Trim at the bottom?

Hi, Gail,, I love the way you did this window,, I actually like it better with the trim at the bottom. Have a great day.
Great idea – I’ve never seen this done before! I have an old window sitting in my garage right now so it looks like another project has been added to my list! Thanks for sharing!
I love what you did, it look great. I do have a question about your magnetic paint. what kind did you use? I have wanted to try it but the product i found did not get good reviews and was expensive.
That is really cute. I can’t decide which way I like it better. I wonder if Grampy would miss the window from his shed? I don’t have any old ones to use. ๐
so great! i have a paneless window on hand and this would be perfect! i am going to try it out. i have no idea when that might actually happen, but when it does i will send a pic to you! ๐ thanks for the inspiration!

Oh gosh, I can’t choose! Love it both ways! I so am going to copy this look, just be warned. I’ve done the window chalkboards but they are so plain jane compared to this lovely! Rose

Another beauty! Wow, that looks so nice, I love the three different areas – so clever! I like the trim on top.

This is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for being so inspiring!
I never in a million years would have thought to make a memo board from an old window
I really like the way this came out! I like the trim on the top but, it seems to function better on the bottom for chalk
