Rub-n-Buff on hardware

Did you see my t.v. cabinet makeover?
After several different colors, I decided on black. Then I couldn’t decide what color to paint the hardware.
One of the colors of the cabinet had been white, so therefor the hardware was white. I asked for suggestions, and I got a lot of great advice.
I hopped onto Amazon and picked out some colors of Rub-n-Buff. I ended up purchasing 3 colors, Turquoise, Ebony, and Patina.
I had no idea they had so many colors!
Because I still couldn’t make up my mind what color to use, so I decided I would use whichever of the colors that arrived first. 
The winner was Turquoise!
I’m not loving it on the black.
I didn’t even attach them. I just stuck them on there.
I tried out a couple of other colors. Under the green handle of the paint brush you can see where I dabbed some Ebony . Under the silver part of the paint brush if you look really close you can see Patina , which is very close to Turquoise . On the right you can see the Gold Leaf.
I use a cheap paint brush to get in the nooks and crannies.
Are you liking the gold?
I like the gold better than the turquoise.
Do you have a favorite? Have you ever used Rub-n-Buff? Did you know they had so many colors?

Can you use the rub-n-buff on a picture frame to change the color of it? Is there any prep other than cleaning that would need to be done? I have a huge frame in gold that I would love to use some on.
No prep at all. It’s messy!
it’s sort of waxy…. that’s what it says it is, metallic wax.

Never used rub-n-buff… the gold looks sweet!
I think any of the colours you’ve used seem to stand out too much against the black. I would use the turquoise and add some black to the crevices like you show under the green brush handle. Something that ties in the handles to the black since there is no other hardware, just black everywhere.
Of course I meant they DON’T stand out against the black… sorry!

I LOVE Rub n’ Buff…it is so easy to use! A little messy, I use a brush too!
I think it needs antique bronze myself. The gold looks a little to bright. Maybe it is just me but to bright.Love the cabinet it looks good and useful.
I’ve never used rub n buff but glad to know they have lots of colors. I wouldn’t have picked gold but it looks good.
yes i like the gold better, too! i have used rub n buff several times on hardware, on my own dresser even. love the look and it stands the test of time!
