howt to repurpose a t.v. cabinetAfter several different colors, I decided on black. Then I couldn’t decide what color to paint the hardware.

black cabinet with white hardwareOne of the colors of the cabinet had been white, so therefor the hardware was white. I asked for suggestions, and I got a lot of great advice.

white hardwareI hopped onto Amazon and picked out some colors of Rub-n-Buff. I ended up purchasing 3 colors, Turquoise, Ebony, and Patina.

I had no idea they had so many colors!

turquoise Rub-n-Buff on hardwareBecause I still couldn’t make up my mind what color to use, so I decided I would use whichever of the colors that arrived first. Smile  The winner was Turquoise!

Turquoise hardware on black cabinetI’m not loving it on the black.

rub-n-buff colorsI tried out a couple of other colors. Under the green handle of the paint brush you can see where I dabbed some Ebony . Under the silver part of the paint brush if you look really close you can see Patina , which is very close to Turquoise . On the right you can see the Gold Leaf.

  2. I have been wanting to try Rub ‘n Buff forever but never had just the right project, I guess. I just bought my first tube yesterday in Gold Leaf. I have a project scheduled, hopefully for next week.

I also just bought my first can of gold spray paint yesterday, and things are going gold today! It’s amazing how something you’re tired of can have a totally different look with just a few sprays.

  3. Thanks for using AMACO’s Rub ‘n Buff – we love being part of such great transformations!

We have 16 colors of RNB – all are on our website to view at amaco.com.

I’d like to post your project to our Facebook page at Rub ‘n Buff at Rub ‘n Buff Metallic Finishes, and link to your site.

    Thanks again!
